We are still trying to figure out where in the world this year has gone! We thought time passed quickly before Laina joined us, but now it seems to go by twice as fast! We had a wonderful time on Laina’s birthday…we spent the day doing some of her favorite things. Grammy took the day off to spend with us, and Sam was able to take off early. We spent a lot of time outside since it was such a beautiful day. We went to the neighborhood playground and had a picnic (and Granddad was able to join us!), went to a pumpkin patch, and went to our favorite restaurant in Del Ray for dinner. Sam and I love Los Tios, and we have gone there several times with Laina. The staff is incredible with little ones. It is definitely a very family friendly restaurant..and of course, great Mexican food!
We celebrated with the rest of our family on Saturday. Both sets of Laina’s grandparents, her great grandfather (Charlie), great grandmother (Nana) and great aunt (Pam) spent the day with us. We spent quite a bit of time being entertained by Laina pushing her new stroller around. It was hysterical. As with most things, she pushed that thing around with gusto! What a little character she is. She received many generous gifts–thank you everyone!
We had her favorite meal for dinner–vegetarian lasagna. She gets very excited about this meal! And of course, we had to let her experience her first cake. I think most of it ended up on her head rather than in her mouth ;). Very funny.
It was a wonderful day, and we have so much to be grateful for. It’s been a very full, joyous year.
