Our friend Val from NYC stayed with us this past weekend. She was my roommate at JMU for one semester (and then sadly transferred.) Spending the weekend with her was rejuvenating as she has such a positive energy about her–really. Anyone who has met her I’m sure would agree. We get to see each other a few times a year, but this was the first time in a long time that we got to spend a whole weekend together. It was so fun to see Val interact with Laina—Laina definitely took a liking to her new pal. They became fast friends. She thoroughly enjoyed her, and was sad to say goodbye when we dropped Val off at the bus station. It was really cute–Laina actually cried a bit when Val got out of the car to leave.
Laina and I also got to spend the day with Auntie Vicky this week. We love when she takes a “sick” day (shhhhhh) and spends the day with us. She also babysat for Laina while Sam and I celebrated his birthday at Founding Farmers. It’s a certified green restaurant, and is absolutely delicious. We would highly recommend it to anyone–as long as you’re not in a rush. They take their time serving each course which is great if you are looking for a leisurely dinner, but not-so-great if you have to be somewhere afterwards!! Such a yummy dinner!! Thank you Victoria =)…we love you!!
