About a week before Laina’s birthday, we started talking to her about her birthday….explaining to her that she was going to be two years old…telling her that we were going to have invite her friends/family over to have a little party…talking to her about the day she was born, etc. So, by the time her birthday rolled around, she had figured out what it was all about. We had a little get together the day after her birthday, and she was excited from the time she got up that morning! By the time people started arriving, she was shouting “I’m so exciting!!”
We set up some toys outside in our courtyard for the kids to play with for a while, and then we had some special visitors join us. The Humane Society was awesome enough to bring a couple puppies for the kids. Vanessa and Veronica were adorable, and the adults loved having them there as much as the kids did. Laina was very excited, and gave them lots of hugs and kisses. After playtime with the puppies, we headed inside to have lunch and pumpkin cupcakes. Laina loved having everyone sing Happy Birthday to her (considering she sings that song all the time!!), and she got a kick out of blowing out the candles.
By the evening, Laina was walking around the house saying “I’m the birthday girl!! I’m two years old!!”
Such a fun day with our family and friends. Happy Birthday sweet girl.
