The blizzard of ’09 gave the three of us the perfect opportunity to just stay at home for a few days in a row. Sam and I kept mentioning how nice it was to have no plans and have a relaxed weekend with the three of us. Especially since Sam has been in school, we don’t have many chances to do that. So we soaked it in. Playing in the snow, making yummy meals, drinking hot cocoa, reading books, watching movies (Laina watched her first movie, “Up”–and seemed to love it since she requested to watch it again the next day!)
We all know it takes forever to get all bundled up, but once we were so layered up that we could hardly move, we headed outside the first day of the blizzard. It was super windy, and the snow was just pounding down. Needless to say, we didn’t stay out there for hours on end, but definitely spent enough time to Laina to eat a lifetime’s worth of snow. We went out a few more times to check out the snow and watch all the neighborhood dogs try to make their way through the 20 inches!
