Funny. Mischievous. A little dramatic. Fun-loving. Sweet, snuggly, and absolutely adorable. These are just a few words that describe our now 2 year old little man. He is such a character, and has a personality that draws people in. He’s definitely a charmer just like his Daddy.
Some of Elijah’s favorite things at this age are: TRUCKS! (he loves to push his toy trucks around the house), drawing balls (especially on his hands), the color orange, fans, turning on/off lights, drinking from a big boy cup, using “grown up” utensils, hard boiled eggs, enchiladas, anything sweet, being outside (especially when it’s raining), looking at bugs, being chased, walking on Daddy, balloons!!, animals, guacamole,
Some other little tidbits about E:
*He still just adores our cats…although he and Petey now have more of a volatile relationship. He used to favor Petey, but “baby Ay-ya” is now his favorite. He calls all cats “Ay-ya”
*He is a really sweet big/little brother. Although he does his fair share of giving Laina a hard time and can sometimes be a little too eager (read: rough) with Austin, he loves to be around them, play with them, and love on them. He gets upset when it’s time for Austin to take a nap b/c he wants to hang out with him. His relationship with Laina has really grown this year, and they act like most brothers and sister. They play and they fight. One minute they’ll be bouncing a balloon back and forth to each other, and the next minute they’ll yelling at one another. He’s just learning the art of an apology….and he will give Laina a hug and kiss after they fight about something.
*His level of enthusiasm for simple pleasures is contagious. He gets SO excited about rain…a beetle…wind in his face…dogs walking by….etc. He says “Whoa whoa whoa!!!” a lot. 🙂 Sam and I love it.
*He likes to look at pictures/videos of water on the computer. It’s usually the first thing he asks for these days when he wakes up. At 6 a.m…I often find myself searching for new images of the ocean or a surfing clip that he hasn’t seen.
*He started school (just last week!). We didn’t really know how he’d react to it since he’s the youngest in his class, but on the first day, he gave me a hug and kiss and never looked back. He is so excited to be going to school, and mentions his favorite classroom item a lot–a big tub of water with a bunch of ducks in it.
*He and Laina started sharing a room a few weeks after Austin was born. It’s definitely been an adventure with these two! Overall, it was a pretty easy transition, but there are definitely nights where it sounds like there is a party going on in their room. Elijah likes to practice saying many of his words at night–and not in his “inside voice” 🙂
*When we ask him what his name is, and his response is “Mimi.” I guess Laina has called him that one too many times!
Happy 2nd Birthday to buddy, Mimi, E, Eli, Lijey, Elijah…You have added so many fun memories to our lives in the past 2 years. We love you so much!
