This year, we decided we wanted to experience going to a Christmas tree farm and choosing our own tree. We drove out to a farm in Chantilly that had been recommended by a local mom. I’m glad we listened to her recommendation, because it definitely exceeded our expectations. Old school wooden see-saws, tee-pees, a wooden pirate ship, a wobbly bridge, moonbounce, a pond, huge slides, swings, animals to feed, a pile of old tires to climb on, etc etc. And of course, the tree farm! We enjoyed all of it. The highlight for me was actually choosing our tree. Laina carried the measuring stick and Sam carried the saw through the maze of trees. Laina gravitated towards the 10 feet tall trees (of course), but we all finally agreed on one that was a bit smaller :). It’s a scraggly lil tree, but I think it has character.

What a fun family tradition to start! Isn't the smell of fresh pine in your house wonderful :0) Have a very Merry Christmas!
This is what everyone will remember…material gifts are great, but it's what we "do and experience" that we will use in life. Have a great Christmas 🙂
