Lucky girl. Laina’s class was selected to go trick-or-treating at the White House on Halloween night. Laina was initially super excited about the idea…then had mixed feelings because she didn’t want to miss out on trick-or-treating with her family and the neighborhood crew (which was completely understandable–I would have felt the same way!) A few days before the “event,” she told me that she was okay with it because she would be all of her friends from class.
Our little red riding hood took off on her first bus ride around 5:00 on Halloween…and returned back to the school around 7:30. She got off the bus and her exact words were: “I loved it. It was just perfect.” Unfortunately Barack and Michelle were asleep (uh-huh), but she loved seeing the “huge house” and going into the part that was haunted. What a cool experience for her!
Since it wasn’t too late, we also got to do some trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. All of her neighbhorhood friends were done and it was raining, but that certainly didn’t stop her :). She told us it was the best Halloween ever!
