We were away for Charlie’s birthday, so that gave us a good reason to head on up to his place with some birthday cheer. The kids always love driving through the city, and they had lots of fun awaiting them at Charlie’s place. They loved checking out the tank and the airplane on the grounds, and then we got a tour. He was really excited to show us around the new section, and I can’t say that I blame him. It is beautiful! We even got to see where he makes all of his art. It’s clear that it’s a passion of his–his self portrait is hanging beautifully in one of the hallways. After exploring, we sat down in one of the dining areas and had some cupcakes. It’s been really special to see the bond grow stronger between Charlie and the kids.
