Dr. Seuss Day

Dr. Seuss’s birthday is a big deal! Last year, Laina dressed up as Cindy Lou Who, and this year she wanted to be a Star Bellied Sneetch. Super cute. Unfortunately, we had a snow day on the day that the students were supposed to dress up as their favorite character–and […]

2nd Annual “We Survived the Holidays” Party

For the second year, Sam and I had a blast putting together our “grown up” party! We have SO enjoyed doing this over the past couple years. From making all the food..to being able to hang out with each other as a couple..to seeing our friends from different stages of […]

…making cookies at 8:00 in the morning (and stealing some batter), watching laina make two phones out of tinker toys for us to talk on, spending 2 hours outside with the neighbors, listening to austin say “hey, you want to snuggle with me before nap?” to elijah, relaxing in front […]

Hooray! Our first real snow day!!!

Sam and I were awakened our usual way…Elijah in our bed at 6:30 going through the list of parties he wants to have (dance parties, candy parties, pool parties, picnic parties, etc)…but this lasted only a few minutes. He then disappeared for a bit, and came back with his boots, […]

Delayed opening

We’ve had several delayed openings the last few weeks due to the weather…our crew seems to enjoy starting school at 10 rather than 8 :). These are a few pics I snapped of the puppet show they put on the other morning. I love their sense of creativity!

Sweetness

Came across this picture while I was doing some edits for a client tonight…it warms my heart, and is a good reminder tonight of how blessed we are to have these little people in our lives.

First snow of 2015

Having a two hour delay gave us just enough time to get outside and make some snow angels, do a little sledding, and attempt to build a snowman this morning! Laina was less than happy that she had to go to school and the boys didn’t!

Old Roomies

At least once a year, we get to see one of my college roommates and her family while they are in town for the holidays. This year, we were smart and let the kids play outside the whole time so we could visit while they ran around! We started out […]

Ticonderoga

These blog posts are obviously not happening in chronological order…I’m just trying to catch up and am doing them as I come across pictures. We took our annual trip to pick out and chop down our Christmas tree–it truly is one of my favorite days of the year. I love […]

Happy New Year!

Face-painting, musical chairs, carnival games, earning tickets, collecting prizes, snow cones, popcorn, photo booth, etc!! First Night Alexandria held a carnival at the Rec Center, and it was just the right speed (and time) for the kids. It was so fun to watch the kids in this setting–I think musical […]
