Oh yeah and so do Sam, Casey, Laina, Elijah, and Austin…and Lemon

So lucky!

I have loved you for many reasons since I was seventeen years old. When we got married, I didn’t think it was possible to love you any more. Then October 8, 2007 came around and I was proven wrong. Watching you step into the role of being the best Daddy in the world has made me so happy. You have worked tirelessly to take care of us, and we all recognize that. You could not be loved more by this crew of ours.

It’s only 7 in the morning, and so far these things have happened:

Elijah woke up (with his usual camping gear on) and came into our bed to “talk about stuff.” Usually he wants to talk about stuff like what type of adventures he wants to go on, what type of food he wants to eat, or what kind of parties he wants to have. This morning, before I even reminded him it was Father’s Day, he said “Mommy, can we talk about all the reasons we like Sam? I mean this Sam. (pointing to you as your were still waking up.) Then he listed his five things:
-Daddy takes me to new stores to buy all kinds of new food
-Daddy teaches me all kinds of stuff
-Daddy buys me new hats (Nats hat)
-Daddy sets up the tent in the garage to let us pretend to go camping and sets up the tent at my birthday party
-Daddy sometimes buys me new stuff

Then, after I reminded him it was Father’s Day…he gave you a bear hug and off he went to make you your 100th card. Oh, and he also brought you your Father’s Day banana 🙂 He marked Father’s Day on his calendar.

A bit later, Laina walks down. “Where is Daddy? Is it Father’s Day?” Then off she went to grab the gift she made you from school that had been in her backpack. She then carefully flipped through your annual Father’s Day book to select the page she wanted to leave a note on.

And then Austin. What’s the biggest gift our adorable 3 year old could give you? His firetruck! When he realized we were talking about Father’s Day, he made his way upstairs to find his truck. “It’s really special to me,” he said. But he is giving it to you! Too sweet!

This is all by 7, and you’re not even awake. I’m sure many other little moments like that await you today (and honestly every day.) They are lucky to have you, and you are lucky to have them! Soak it in. Enjoy your day. Glad you got to brew beer and play video games this weekend:). We love you. Happy Father’s Day!!
