Reston Zoo with cousin Dianne

At the beginning of the month, we met “cousin Dianne” at Reston Zoo one morning. I have to say that she was such a trooper, because it was freezing cold that particular day…and super windy! I didn’t manage to get too many pics along the way, especially after I felt like I had to protect poor little E from the animals. I mentioned this before, but he has a serious affection for chickens for some reason. There happened to be a few chickens walking freely around the barn where Laina was feeding the baby goats, so he meandered over there to check them out. He was just strolling along when one of the chickens came at him out of nowhere. The chicken pecked him in the face and flapped his wings at E until my poor little man fell down and started crying. Not sure if he has the same affection for chickens after that experience. The same chicken attacked another little boy a few minutes later, so we thought it was time to leave that barn! The kids got to take a peak at all the animals and go on a wagon ride (BRRRRR!!!) Dianne is still speaking to me after our frigid day at the zoo, so I am thankful 🙂
