18 months

Our boy is 18 months! He is such a funny (and sometimes dramatic) little guy, and he keeps us all laughing and guessing what he will do next.

Some of his favorite things:
* Playing with balls, chasing bubbles, going to the playground (slide and sandbox are his faves!), sitting on his sister (especially when she is lying down), wearing accessories–he loves mardi gras beads and headbands!, being outside regardless of the weather, watching airplanes and helicopters, eating a snack on the couch with Laina, feeding his snack to everyone, tickle time with Daddy and Laina.

Some other little tidbits about Me-Mu (newest nickname from Laina):
~He’s pretty mischievous. He likes to get into everything he’s not supposed to. The cabinets with the cleaning supplies, the fireplace, the drawer where all of Laina’s artwork is stored, the toilet (he’s dropped balls, toys, and Laina’s shoe in the toilet–and we typically keep the bathroom door shut). He also really gets a kick out of experimenting with throwing his food. He’s getting much better, but we’re not in the clear just yet!
~He’s got the most enthusiastic head nod I’ve ever seen.
~He loves to play on our bed with Laina. They have this little wrestling thing going on which is very cute. He loves to stand up, throw his arms in the air, and let her push him backwards into the pillows. They both cannot get enough of this.
~He really enjoys the whole process of taking Laina to school and picking her up. After we pick her up, all the kids play on the side of the school in the garden area. He loves to be around the big kids, and loves to hide in the tree and be chased by the kids.
~ He walks around swinging his arms–seems like he feels very proud and confident these days.
~Some of his favorite foods are currently: all types of fruit except bananas, french toast, fried eggs, avocado, Bunny Grahams, yogurt, spinach lasagna, peas.
~He can be seriously dramatic (as I mentioned above:). He’s definitely been known to throw his cute little self on the floor in tears if something isn’t going right. If he’s tired and/or teething, watch out! He’s tested out hitting, too. Hopefully, he’s getting the message that this doesn’t fly very well around here.
~ He’s a mama’s boy when he wants comfort–at least for now.

Words:
Mama
Dada or Dadoo
Nana (Laina)
Ay-ya (Ellie)
Ki-Ka (kitty cat)
Ball
Bottle
Bubble
Boat
Buh Buh (bye bye)
Diapu (diaper)
Al-da (all done)
Ni-ni (night night)
Up
Moo
Baa

He’s not a huge talker at this point, but it’s no wonder considering all of the noise going on around him all the time! When he does say something, Laina gets so excited and runs over to us and reports what he has said.
