This girl. She is just full of surprises. Last Friday, Laina’s Spanish teacher approached me at pick-up and asked permission to take Laina to lunch during the school week. Apparently, Laina wrote her a letter (in Spanish) indicating that she would really love to go to dinner sometime with Sra. Domenech. Sra Domenech said she was so impressed that Laina had written this letter to her, and that she really wanted to make that happen for Laina. Instead of dinner, she (and another teacher) walked Laina over to Caboose for a special lunch. I think this will be a day that Laina remembers forever–it was so special and she could not have been more excited.
Laina, I hope you hold onto this ability to put yourself out there.
