All of our kids have had a chance at some point along the way to have Auntie Vicky days–what lucky kids! She is one of those friends who just feels like part of our family. The kids love her and look forward to her visits, and Sam and I are both so comfortable with her. She’s been in my life since high school, and she was there through the entire roller coaster when Sam and I were young and had a pretty tumultuous relationship ;). She has even stayed in our house on occasion to watch the cats while we are away. She has been such a steady support system for me along the way. Auntie Vicky days are another example of that! We had actually talked on the phone recently and I was venting about trying to manage life with 3 kids, etc and mentioned I that I was feeling the need for some “me” time. So, what does she say? “I’m taking an Auntie Vicky day, and you are leaving the house to do whatever you want!”
This time, Austin pretty much had her to himself since Laina and Elijah were at school. They had lots of quality time together “baking cookies,” having snacks, playing cars, etc…while I went to a coffee shop and did a little Spring shopping. It was fantastic. Thank you, Victoria!! We are so grateful to have you in our lives.
