Long Branch Nature Center

We met the MOMS group the other day at a nature center and it was a big hit! Laina got to see some turtles, snakes, fish, frogs, etc. She especially took a liking to a little turtle there–she kept smiling at him and touching the aquarium saying “tickle tickle tickle” (like she does with Petey and Ellie!) She was also very fascinated by the snakes, and started to move her tongue in and out like them. There was however, one little friend that Laina was not too sure of–a large turtle. She actually showed some sense of fear (which is not very typical!!) of this guy—she clung to her mommy for a few minutes and made it clear she did not want to approach this one without me. While I’m glad she feels comfortable in most situations, I have to take full advantage of those moments when she does cling to me!!!
