Abbyjack

When I was pregnant, we sometimes called our little peanut growing inside of me “Abbyjack.” We did this because we didn’t find out if we were having a boy or a girl, and our top names were Abby and Jack at that point. We ultimately held on to Abigail for Laina’s middle name. Anyway, my parents gave Laina her first babydoll for Christmas this year, and her name is “Abby.” In the last few days, I guess Laina’s maternal instinct has kicked in 😉 because Abby has not left her side. She has been having tea parties with Abby as well as feeding her and putting her to bed. She likes to hug and kiss Abby while saying “O-wa” (I love you). It has been highly entertaining, not to mention just plain adorable, to watch her take care of Abby. She even wanted her to be part of her own bedtime routine, so Abby read with us last night and slept in Laina’s crib. Last night after I put her to bed, we heard her saying Abby’s name for a few minutes. So cute.
