Aside from the face plant within the first 5 minutes due to the tremendous amount of layers that her mommy dressed her in, Laina loved her first time playing in the snow. Her “real” first time in the snow was last year, but she was only a couple months old and far too young to enjoy it. This year, she was able to get all decked out in her little snowsuit, go sledding (if being pushed around in a laundry basket counts ;), and even eat the snow (not by choice unfortunately!) Laina and I had planned to spend the day with my parents, and we didn’t let the snow stop us from going down there! Laina got to play with her Granddad in the morning and rest up for an afternoon of playing in the snow. All morning, she walked over to the door and said “No-ing.” (translation= snowing). She also said “ho, ho, ho” a bunch because we kept mentioning snowmen, and she associates snowmen with Santa. Too funny.
My mom, Laina and I ventured out in the snow together and had a blast…after recovering from a face full of snow. Although it was sad to see Laina upset from falling face first into the snow, I have to admit it was pretty funny. It was one of those slow-motion moments that made it all the more humorous. She picked her head up out of the snow and had the cutest look on her face…and then the crying =(. It took a few minutes for her to warm back up to the snow, but we got there. I think she especially liked taking a walk up the street…she seemed rather fascinated by the crunching noise her feet made when stepping on the ice/snow. She also enjoyed being pushed around in the laundry basket for a while…our own little version of sledding. All in all, it was a wonderful first experience playing in the snow.
Here is a picture of Laina’s true first snow….

Laina is so cute all bundled up! I love her little jacket. I’m glad you all had fun in the snow. Using a laundry basket as a sled is a great idea!
